So, this is pretty amazing (the video, not the product). Aside from the obvious ridiculousness, I’m pretty sure they show a girl getting laughed at for using their product. Also, don’t miss the grandpa half-way through the video. I’m pretty sure I’d think I was dreaming if I saw a guy like that ride one of these things.

If that wheel didn’t quench your magical thirst, I found a review on this site that shows them trying to ride this thing, as well as another product video (which is actually the first one I saw). Even in the advertisements it looks like the riders are about to wreck at any given moment.

I upgraded to WordPress 2.5 today.  I like what they’ve done with it, but I don’t really feel the need to kick the tires or anything.  There is one thing I was curious about, though, and that’s the gallery feature.  So, presented here, is my current collection of brand name parodies in anime.

I’ve finally got around to watching Moyashimon after putting it off for a bit. I found it while searching around AniDB but, despite the decent rating, couldn’t motivate myself to dive in. Can you blame me? Look at the sample image they use:

And then the description starts off with “Tadayasu Sawaki was born with an unique ability: He can see and communicate with bacteria and other micro-organisms - in fact they consider him to be their friend and are quite noisy.” Awesome. Luckily, I learned a while ago that if something looks and sounds like crap on AniDB, but manages to have a pretty good score, trust in the score.

The only thing I can think of that I didn’t like about Moyashimon– and this came as a big surprise to me– was how short the series was, only lasting eleven episodes. This is surprising to me because I love a good, short series; something that can get in, tell a story and get out while keeping me locked in. Moyashimon does this well, except that it never really “gets out.” The series seems to end right when it’s ramping up, leaving a ton unexplored story and unanswered questions behind. This is compounded by the fact that I really enjoyed the characters in this series and would’ve loved to see them doing their thing for a while longer. Simply put: this series screams for a sequel, and that’s not something I’ll say often.

So, brevity aside, the series was pretty damn good. I enjoyed the animation quite a bit and, as I already mentioned, loved the characters. Other then that, there’s really not much more I can mention. Watch it, enjoy it, miss it.

Ah, P.S.: Thanks to bssubs for the series. If it wasn’t for finding it on their site I probably would have delayed seeing the series for considerably longer.

I have a car fuse on my desk. It’s a small, blue piece of plastic with the number “15″ etched in white on the top and two flat, metal prongs poking out of the bottom. At least I assume that’s the correct orientation.

The fuse is from my car. Despite the “15″ on the top, I yanked it from the number 11 slot, so I have no choice but to assume the numbers are not directly related. The 11-slot of my vehicle’s fuse box controls the “convenience lamps”— that’s how you say “inside lights” in car manual jargon.

So the very convenient inside light lamps of my car no longer work, which is good because that’s what I wanted. Because they wouldn’t turn off. Because my fucking car door won’t open on the passenger side. And, I mean, it seriously won’t open. At least not to several brutal kicks from the interior and some hard, simultaneous yanks from the outside. Despite the door being so firmly stuck shut, however, the magic status-telling latch-thing thinks the door is firmly planted open, hence the light situation (and, hence, the fuse situation). I think the fuse also controls the turn signals or something semi-important.

I made a new theme for my page. It’s not quite finished, but I think I have enough of the major stuff finished that I can start using it. I named it after the model of my recently destroyed ship in EVE Online.  And yes, it is very plain, thank you.
